Angry Samoans

I have a hard time thinking of a band that's more fun, or funny, than the Angry Samoans. Sure, they're juvenile, obnoxious, crass, idiotic, offensive, snotty and politically incorrect, but that's a huge part of their charm. There is a certain intelligence buried in those qualities that seems to have disappeared in most of today's music. :::the mediocre cheer:::

So, here's the Unboxed Set, all 43 tracks from their first 4 albums on one disc. This is the beginning of the L.A. hardcore scene. You'll begin to understand the lawsuit filed against these boys by the infamous KROQ DJ, Rodney Bingenheimer, in response to their song "Get Off the Air" and how Rodney used his influence to have the Samoans banned from several L.A. clubs. Poor kids even had to change their name to "Queer Pills" to get played on Rodney's show!

You'll witness the scary life of Hitler's littlest friend, the joys of poking out your own eyes with a fork and why you are a stupid jerk...and you'll be better for having experienced it all. As the second half of your journey into the Samoans continues, you'll hear the band grow into their roots, away from hardcore and into 60's psych. It's a bit of an acid drenched adventure, which, under the right circumstances, can completely change your destiny.
